Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
