Our recent blogs have been focusing around obesity and the reason for this is because the UK media is continuing to publish more shocking facts. With obesity levels increasing in Britain, Doctors and academics are now pleading with leading supermarkets to cut back on the display of unhealthy food and food manufacturers to reduce the amount of sugar levels in their products. Supermarket chain Lidl has begun a 10 week campaign to remove unhealthy snacks from their checkouts and replace them with healthier alternatives in 600 of their UK stores. Lidl’s survey indicated that parents were unable to educate healthy eating to their children, when the media, supermarkets and food brands are continuing to promote unhealthy food.
Focus Training strongly believe that children should be taught from a young age about the importance of having a healthy lifestyle through what we eat and how we exercise. This is one of the reasons why one of our personal training courses if focused on our students becoming a kid’s fitness instructor. The National Obesity Forum has warned that obesity levels in the UK is becoming worse than originally anticipated and therefore, the reports have highlighted that half of Britons will be classed as being obese by 2050. Although this is over 30 years away, this shocking statistic can be prevented and with more professional personal trainers like yourself, we’re sure that we can unite to help combat this epidemic.
Our personal training courses vary in specification and two of our modules are specifically designed for you to become a kids fitness instructor and an obesity and diabetes specialist. If this is an area that you are keen to work in, please get in touch with us and you can be part of the Great Britain campaign in putting a stop to obesity.
