19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Now training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is his initial championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

Success also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive play style and recurring reactions on court had caused observers to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 initial break points in a close third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
