Another year, another new fitness craze sweeps the nation! Thanks to the emergence of many a dance workout craze, gymgoers are now flocking to a new kinda class, designed to trim the tush and get us moving!
The “Twerkout” is a full body exercise class, based around moves made popular at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. It’s a great choice for fitness newbies, focusing on bums, legs and core strength.
Not only was the term, ‘Twerking’ granted runner up in the Oxford Dictionaries’ word of the year 2013, the trend has spread like wildfire since Miley Cyrus showed us some serious booty-shaking at last years’ VMA’s!
The Twerkout works the calves and gluteus maximus, whist building on core body strength and flattening the tummy. It’s set to be popular amongst groups looking to shake up their workout routines and add a little sass to their sessions!
Group Fitness Instructors are already preparing Twerkout sessions mixed in with their own dance-based classes. Virtual TwerkOut Classes and a licensed TwerkOut video will inevitably follow later in the year. Like many popular dance workouts before it, getting onboard with the Twerking craze could see Group Fitness Instructors open doors to a whole host of new clientele!
