Our team are passionate about supporting our students to become qualified Fitness Professionals. We’re fanatic about fitness, developing those who strive for career success in the leisure sector, and shaping the leaders of the future in Health and Wellbeing! We’re also a nice bunch too!
So we thought we’d take you behind the scenes to meet the team.
This week, it’s…
Mike Watt – Course Tutor – “The Nice Guy”
Tutor Mike has worked in the fitness industry for almost 10 years. Before joining the team at Focus Training, Mike was as a Fitness Instructor, Group Exercise Instructor and Duty Manager for leisure clubs Total Fitness and DW Sports Fitness. He teaches a variety of exercise classes including Spinning, Circuits, Boxercise, Core & Aqua, and also works with amateur Rugby League teams as a Fitness & Conditioning Coach.
An approachable and friendly chap, Mike always has time for a chat with his colleagues and students, and when he’s not moulding fitness professionals, he can be found running, cycling and attending fitness classes (this guy is clearly in the right job!)
We asked Mike…
Interesting Fact About You…
I’m petrified of heights but went to ‘Go Ape’ tree top challenge and screamed for the 2.5 hour duration. My fear of heights was not cured!!!
What three things can you not live without?
Family, Girlfriend and Rugby League.
How Would Your Friends Describe You?
Nice guy who would do anything (or that should be, most things!) for anybody.
Why do you love your job?
I love to pass on my skills, knowledge and experience to students to ensure they can be the very best instructor/PT they can be. I have great job satisfaction in progressing a student through their studies and eventually passing their exams, knowing that I played a key role in helping them achieve their goals.
