Say hello to Glyn Knight, Personal Trainer, Sports Massage Therapist and Tutor for Focus Training.
At 16, Glyn joined the armed forces and served for nearly nine years before starting his career in the fitness industry in 2010.
He specialises in sports massage, kettlebell training, endurance sport training and fitness event preparation.
“I love the variety I currently have, training people and doing sports massage at in the gym, in people homes and outdoors.”
We asked Glyn…
What do you love about your job?
“The people and their different backgrounds, interests, motivating factors, abilities, limitations and challenges.”
What three things can’t you live without?
“Coffee. The outdoors / fresh air and daylight. Something to aspire to.”
What’s the best feedback you’ve ever received?
“Some of the best feedback I have ever received came from someone I only saw for one 30 minute session. I gave her some tips on her running technique and training methods.
I got a lovely thank you card a few weeks later saying my advice had helped her reach some goals she had been training for for years and was starting to think weren’t possible.
It’s nice to think that even in half an hour you can have a positive impact on someone’s life.”
What’s your favourite form of fitness or fitness trend?
“Trail Running. Running is great for the mind, it helps keep me sane. I love being outdoors and the simplicity of me vs the terrain and the elements.”
