When it comes to our training, we focus on making courses as manageable and worthwhile for our students.
Meet Yemi, who has trained with us throughout his fitness career to further his expertise and go further within fitness. See what Yemi has to say about training with us.
Hi Yemi, thanks for taking the time to talk. So, what courses have you done with us?
It’s fine. I have done all of my courses with you guys, I have never thought to go anywhere else, I’ve never felt the need to.
I have done my Level 2 Gym Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer, Exercise Referral, Level 4 Diabetes and Obesity; and I am still doing my Lower Back Pain course at the minute.
It’s good to see that you have always trained with us, especially further than Level 3. It’s really good to see people doing more within fitness as well.
Have you gone on to use your qualifications at work? Or did you just do the courses for your own benefit?
Yeah, I am a Personal Trainer in a gym, so getting my qualifications was what was needed to get to where I am. Although I am a Personal Trainer, doing more than my Level 3 has helped me to do more with my training.
What course did you enjoy the most or find the most useful?
I enjoyed all of the courses, so it’s pretty hard to choose which one I enjoyed the most. The one that has been most useful would be the Exercise Referral because it has given me an insight into clients with specific health problems.
Down to this, I have been able to get involved with more clients with loads of specific things they want to work on, and it has helped me to work with a really diverse client base.
I would also say that the Lower Back Pain course has also been useful and I haven’t even finished it yet. Although I can’t train Lower Back Pain clients at the moment, I have already had talks with clients about how I can help them, and what I have learned so far has already given me an insight into how I will be able to help. On top of this, it is a big area of fitness at the moment, so I know it is going to be useful in the future.
That’s great to hear, it’s good that you’re using what you have learned in different ways. What do you think of the Tutor support that is on offer throughout the courses?
The Tutor support really helped. I think it is really good that I was able to schedule calls that weren’t too frequent because it meant that I was able to get on with other things alongside learning. I also think that the fact that I could send me Tutor emails or give them a call to ask any quick questions, and this actually really helped with the home study and in between calls.
The Tutor support is a huge help for a lot of learners, especially with the scheduled calls, I’m glad you feel the same. Do you think that the student resources and portal were helpful?
Really helpful. I used the manuals more than anything just because I like the reading more and it is easy to read on the go and on the way to course days.
Even though I used the manual a lot, the videos are good because it gives you the chance to double check things and get a demonstration on anything that might be a bit confusing. I suppose the videos are also good because it means that if you want, you don’t have to read the manuals to study.
Thanks for your time Yemi, it’s good to see our students go on to do great things with their qualifications and I’m sure the readers appreciate your time to let them know what you think of our courses.
