I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
