How is the Tutor course delivered?
You will receive an Active IQ manual and Learner Achievement Portfolio, within which you will be required to complete some home study worksheets. You will attend a day of face-to-face support, which will provide you with a toolkit of teaching ideas and methods with which to deliver teaching and learning effectively. The support day will also provide you with the assessment guidelines for completing and passing the course. Approximately 2 months later, you will return for a second day with your completed portfolio and be observed delivering one teaching and learning session.
What does the Tutor course cover?
Key principles of delivering teaching and learning, including:
- The importance of lesson planning and how to design them
- Ways to differentiate between learners
- How to embed functional and employability skills into teaching and learning
- A range of teaching methods and ideas with which to deliver lessons
How will I be assessed?
A portfolio of evidence (written worksheets) and practical observation carrying out a teaching and learning session.
