Master Personal Training Diploma

Course Structure and Content

  • What course materials will I receive?

    You will have access to a separate manual for Personal Training, Nutrition, Business and Marketing and the Fitness Professional’s Toolkit.

    You will be provided with a unique log in to our bespoke online learning portal, which includes interactive visual-auditory learning resources to support you with your studies. You can also access and complete some of the homestudy work on the portal

  • What will I learn with a Master Personal Trainer Diploma?

    During your Master Personal Trainer Diploma, you will gain the knowledge of how to effectively plan regimes and instruct clients in terms of exercise and nutrition. This includes:

  • How is the course delivered?

    The Master Personal Trainer course is delivered through a blend of home study, supported by our dedicated team of support tutors and course attendance at one of our nationwide training centres.

  • How do I submit my work?

    You need to submit your home-study units either online through interactive questioning or you could choose to complete it hand written if you prefer. Case studies can be completed hand written or electronically.

    If you have any special learning needs please do not hesitate to discuss them with our advisers, we will do as much as is practicable to assist.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Throughout this course, students will gain an excellent knowledge and understanding to deliver effective, engaging, and tailored fitness sessions for a range of clients.

    In terms of assessment, this course will involve:

    A practical assessment to demonstrate your ability to deliver Personal Training sessions
    A case study to outline your knowledge of programming Personal Training sessions and nutritional advice
    A multiple choice theory examination covering anatomy and physiology
    A multiple choice theory examination focussed on the principles of nutrition
    Business plan

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I become a Master Personal Trainer?

    Before you start learning how to become a level 3 Personal Trainer, you will need to gain a recognised Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification. If you don’t already have this, you can bolt it onto this course. If you are already qualified at Level 2, you are ready to enrol onto our Master Personal Trainer Diploma.

  • On completion of the Master Personal Trainer Diploma course, what will I receive?

    You will receive two certificates:

    Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and Business Skills for Fitness Professionals
    Focus Training Master Personal Trainer certificate

  • Is this course recognised by REPs?

    Yes! Our Master Personal Trainer course gives you access onto the Register of Exercise Professionals as a Level 3 Personal Trainer, with 20 REPs points.

    The course is quality assured by Active IQ, who are an Ofqual approved awarding organisation, and the market leaders in the active leisure sector

  • Can I get funding for the Master Personal Trainer course?

    Yes! you may be eligible for a 19+ Adult Learner Loan, where you pay a small deposit (refundable on completion of the course). You need to be over the age of 19 and meet other eligibility criteria. Our careers advisors would be happy to help with any questions you have on 0800 999 6664.

    We also have 0% monthly payment options, discount for paying in full and finance agreements if you wanted to reduce your monthly payments and pay over a longer term.

  • How long does the Master Personal Trainer course take to complete?

    Part-time learning option: From start to finish it is possible to complete this qualification in a minimum of 6 months depending on time that you have available to study and your previous experience. Most learners take between 6-12 months.

    Full-time learning option: It is possible to have everything complete within 10-12 weeks working full-time on this course. Note: The business module is cannot be completed as part of course attendance, and will need to be studied at home with ongoing support from our dedicated telephone support tutors

  • What do you need to study a Master Personal Trainer Diploma?

    To complete the Master Personal Trainer Diploma, you must hold a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (this can be bolted on if you don’t already have it) and be aged 16 or over.
