Fitness Professional's 'Toolkit' Course

With this is mind, look no further than our unique Fitness Professional’s ‘Toolkit’ – an ideal course for personal trainers who want to attract new clients and keep current customers on their toes. The Fitness Professionals Toolkit is an exciting refresher course for trainers who are looking to expand their personal training knowledge and learn new training methods.

The ‘toolkit’ consists of four skills workshops spread over 2 days. You will cover the basics of Padwork, Kettlebells, Core and Outdoor training.

Course Structure and Content

  • How Is This Course Delivered?

    This is a two-day practical workshop at one of our Focus Training venues located throughout the country.

  • How Will I Be Assessed?

    As this is a workshop, there is no summative assessment; the tutor will provide feedback continuously over the two days.

  • What Will I Learn?

    In just one workshop, you will acquire a range of new skills and fitness techniques – all of which will allow you to take your personal training expertise to the next level.

    There are four key areas involved in the Fitness Professional’s ‘Toolkit’ workshop. These include:

    Padwork

    • Stance and footwork
    • The 4 main punches; jab, straight, hook and upper cut
    • How to use mitts/ gloves and pads effectively
    • How to incorporate techniques into a training programme
    • How to utilise new skills in a class format for beginners to advanced clients

    Kettlebell

    • The 6 grips involved in kettlebell exercises.
    • An extensive range of kettlebell exercises for all clients.
    • Sport specific exercises.
    • How to incorporate techniques into a training programme.
    • How these skills can be incorporated into a class based session.

    Core

    • Importance and implementation of ‘functional neutral spine’.
    • A range of static and dynamic core stability exercises.
    • Progressions and adaptations using levers, gravity, speed and portable equipment.
    • How to incorporate these techniques into your client’s training regime.

    Outdoor

    • Health & Safety associated with working in outdoor environments.
    • Effective use of the outdoors to create a fun and challenging session such as the use of benches, hills, lamp posts, steps, trees and sports pitches.
    • Tool box of bodyweight exercises – learn a huge range of bodyweight exercise to adapt to the outdoor environment.
    • Tool box of small portable equipment exercise – learn how to utilise a vast range of small portable equipment such as resistance bands, TRX, hand weights to add variety and intensity to a client’s programme.
    • Delivery of Personal Training sessions in the home or office
