Exercise To Music Course

The Level 2 Exercise to Music qualification is the gateway into the exciting career of group exercise to music. If you are looking to teach classes within health and fitness clubs, set up on your own in community venues, or you want to become a Les Mills Instructor, this is where it all begins.

The client base for this course is broad, with more and more people turning to group exercise as a fun and engaging activity.

You will learn how to plan and deliver your own choreographed exercise to music sessions including warm-ups, cardiovascular and body conditioning, cool-downs and much more!

Course Structure and Content

  • What Course Materials Will I Receive For The Exercise To Music Course?

    As soon as you enrol onto the Exercise to Music course, you will gain access to our bespoke eLearning virtual classroom. This hosts our manual (a hard copy version can be purchased at an extra cost), visual-audio revision sessions and instructional videos, everything you need to prepare you for assessment and develop your knowledge and skills. There are online quizzes to check what you have learnt has ‘sunk in’ as well!

  • How Is The Course Delivered?

    As soon as you book, you will be assigned your own personal support tutor, they will call you to agree a plan of learning, which will include setting deadlines for coursework submission and arranging further revision calls to help you with the theoretical elements of the course.

    After completing your home study work, and when you are fully prepared for your assessment, you will attend the three practical course days. These fun and challenging days will allow you to practice your teaching skills using the latest moves and choreography, whilst receiving support and guidance from our expert and highly experienced tutors. Approximately one month later, after some practice at home, you will return for a one day practical assessment, bringing two ‘friends’ along with you to be bodies for the assessment day.

  • How Will I Be Assessed?

    • To successfully complete this course, the following assessments will be carried out:
    • Home study (either online or written)
    • 2 x multiple choice theory examinations
    • Practical assessment – planning, teaching and evaluating a safe and effective exercise to music session (you must bring 2 people with you for the practical assessment day)

  • How Do I Become An Exercise To Music Instructor?

    Whether you are a self-employed or health club based Exercise to Music or Les Mills instructor, you will be required to hold a Level 2 qualification that is recognised by an Awarding Organisation.   • What Are The Entry Requirements For The Level 2 Exercise To Music Course?

    • Level 2 is considered the entry level into the fitness industry, therefore you are not required to hold any other qualifications. All that is required is that you are above the age of 16

  • What Certificate Will I Receive On Completion Of The Exercise To Music Course?

    Certification for this course is titled Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Exercise to Music) You will also receive 20 REPs points to enable you to join the Register of Exercise Professionals.

  • What Progression Options Are Available?

    Following successful completion of the Exercise to Music course you may choose to progress onto a Specialist Level 3 qualification such as Exercise Referral, Pre and Post Natal or Older Adults.

  • What Payment Options Do You Offer?

    There are several ways to pay for the Exercise to Music course. You can pay in full and receive a discount, pay by interest-free monthly payments, or set up a finance agreement if you want to reduce your monthly outgoings by paying over a longer.

  • How Long Will It Take Me To Complete The Exercise To Music Course?

    From start to finish it is possible to complete this qualification in 8 weeks depending on whether it is your first Level 2 qualification. If it is, then the minimum duration will be around 12 weeks.
