Aqua Aerobic Instructor Course
Aqua Fitness classes are more popular than ever for health club members as they look for new and fun ways to exercise. Gaining the qualifications to become an Aqua Fitness Instructor will give you the skills and techniques to deliver effective water-based exercise classes to a range of people.
If you are already teaching group exercise to music in a studio and you’re looking to expand your repertoire of classes, or you’re new to the industry and want to get involved in a growing market, then this nationally recognised qualification is the one for you!
What Will I Learn As An Aqua Instructor?
During the course, you’ll learn how to instruct and implement water fitness exercises and routines for a range of clients – including children, adults and people with disabilities.
There are six different units involved in becoming an aqua instructor – including:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Principles of exercise fitness and health
- Health, safety and safeguarding
- Promoting physical activity and customer care
- Water based exercise programming
- Instructing water based sessions
There will also be a clear focus on how to instruct groups safely, as well as the benefits of water-based exercise on the human body. This means that you’ll gain a thorough knowledge and understanding about the cardiovascular and respiratory system – something which will help you to become an expert Aqua Instructor.
How Is The Course Delivered?
As with all Focus Training courses a Focus Training Tutor will support you. A tutor will contact you at the beginning of the course to arrange key dates and deadlines.
After the initial two practical days, you will have approximately four weeks to prepare and practice for the final practical assessment to which you are required to bring two class participants.
Course attendance will be at your choice of Focus Training centres throughout the UK.
How Will I Be Assessed For My Aqua Instructor Qualification?
- Multiple choice theory exams
- A home study workbook
- A practical assessment
It’s worth noting that you will be required to bring two class participants for the final practical observation – so start asking your friends now!
Overall, these assessments are intended to provide you with the skills and knowledge to be a qualified aqua instructor. The course is in-depth, challenging, and extremely rewarding – making it the perfect option for aspiring aqua instructors, regardless of the stage of your career.
How Do I Submit My Work?
If this is your first Level 2 qualification, some of the work will be completed online through a range of interactive questions. The remainder will need to be completed hand written and posted back to Focus Training’s head office, or electronically and submitted via e-mail.
What Learning Materials Will I Receive For The Aqua Instructor Course?
You will receive an electronic manual and workbook. If this is your first level 2 qualification, you will also receive access to our online learning portal, which is a fantastic interactive tool to support you with your learning.
