At Focus Training, we work hard to not only give our students the high quality training and knowledge they need to embark on a fitness career, but the coaching and mentoring needed to make it a success. So, naturally, we like to stay in touch with past students to see where their learning has taken them.
We caught up with Diane Hancox, a qualified Personal Trainer with an impressive resume of advanced personal training qualifications since studying with Focus…
Diane began her career in the fitness and leisure industry at the age of 16, working as a member care assistant for a health club.
Over the years. she has amassed numerous qualifications, in Fitness Instruction, Personal Training, Pre and Postnatal Exercise, Exercise Referral, Postural Stability and a level 4 in Physical Activity and Weight Management for Obese and Diabetic Clients.
Despite her already impressive fitness background, Diane continues to develop her knowledge of the fitness arena, keeping a keen eye on fresh new techniques and emerging trends. So it’s no surprise that she has a successful career as a Personal Trainer, as well as working on a local Exercise Referral Scheme encouraging people to become more active. Diane also works on a Falls Prevention Programme, holding exercise sessions for people in the community who have had a fall or are at risk of falling.
“My daily schedule is quite diverse. No two days are the same!”
Diane tells us that of all the courses she’s completed, the Exercise Referral has been her favourite.
“Focus were recommended to me by a friend. The flexible learning allowed me to work at my own pace and the course was led by enthusiastic tutors who supported me every step of the way!. This course allowed me to take my career in a different direction, which enabled me to adapt training plans and understand the conditions of clients. It’s a great feeling when you make a positive difference in people’s lives!
The Exercise Referral Qualification really has opened up so many doors for me and has enabled me to specialise in areas I feel very passionate about.”
Diane also recently completed her Level 4 Weight Management for Obese and Diabetic Clients, which she studied with Focus.
“Finding a good training provider really does make a difference and the learning materials are simple to use.”
Over the next few months, Diane looks forward to furthering her skills even more, with a qualification to become a Pilates Instructor.
“That’s the brilliant thing about this industry, you never stop learning! Whenever I try something new I always listen to the same advice I give my clients. ‘The expert in anything was once a beginner’.”
We wish Diane the very best of luck in her continued success.
