Fitness Instructor Course assessment

Military Training

Military training is by far one of the toughest and most gruelling forms of fitness training, but it’s a regime that is crucial. To be part of the Armed Forces, you have to be 110% fit and healthy if you’re going to pass even the basic forms of training. New Army recruits will require the services of a fitness professional and if you really want to step up your game after completing your personal training courses, then you too can be recruited to work in the Forces. Recent statistics from the Ministry of Defence has revealed that over 32,000 British Soldiers failed the basic fitness test in the last three years and over 22,000 were overweight. It is required for all British Soldiers to complete a fitness assessment twice a year, and anyone who fails must take the test again within seven days, otherwise, they could face a discharge from the Armed Services. Soldiers who are under 29 or younger must be able to complete 44 press-ups in two minutes, 50 sit-ups in two minutes and a 1.5 mile run in 10.5 minutes, and this is just for the men. Women must be able to 21 press-ups in two minutes, followed by 50 sit-ups in two minutes and to complete the 1.5 miles in 13 minutes. Between April 2011 and March 2014, 29,600 male and 2,819 female Soldiers failed to complete the fitness test. It goes without saying that the Armed Forces will have their own fitness instructors and personal trainers on base to help boost the Soldiers’ fitness ability, and ensure that they always maintain the same level or higher fitness standards. Becoming a fitness professional in the Armed Forces takes dedication, but the opportunities and rewards for you will be endless.
